Appalling scenes from White House Correspondents dinner after shooter opened fire outside the main ballroom. President Trump is thankfully reported safe. But this is another shocking incident involving his security - how did shooter get this close on such a high-profile night?

Why it's Truth

AP News, Reuters, BBC, CBS News, and court filings (via NYT) all confirm a shooter fired outside/near the ballroom at the security checkpoint during the April 25, 2026 dinner; no credible source contradicts this.
